Build on completely Open Source Technology, IRIS can offer the lowest TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) compared to other industry standard applications. It is developed in Java and uses the industry standard enterprise application specification J2EE. It is built on a flexible, scalable and robust architecture Tulip, which wraps the industry standard web application framework Struts 1.1, WAR mapping tool Hibernate/JDO and reporting framework jFree Report. IRIS uses tomcat 4.1.27 as the application server, OpenJMS as the java message server and postgreSQL as the database server.
