Workshop on “ Automation and Human Resource building in Islamic Banking: Trends & Future”

To make the acquaintance of automation and Human Resource building of Islamic Banking arena a workshop titled as “Automation and Human Resource Building of Banking: Trends & Future” was held on Tuesday, 27 February 2007at 03:00-05:00 at BIBM .The workshop was jointly organized by Millennium Information Solution Ltd   and Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management.

 

Mr. Mahmud Hossain, CEO of Millennium Information Solution Ltd welcomed the participants and the audience at the programme. He said in his welcome note that a consistent growth has been observed in Islamic banking and Finance sector and millennium has the right solution with its centralized and on-line software application- “Ababil”.

 

The keynote Paper was presented by Mr. Fariduddin Ahmed, Executive President(Acting) of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. He illustrated the various aspects of Islamic banking, its deposit growth, Investment growth etc in Bangladesh and thanked Millennium for their endeavour and contribution in Islamic Banking with their automation.

 

Mr. Nasiruddin Ahmed, DMD, Prime bank and Dr. Ananya Raihan ED, D-Net was present at the workshop as discussants. Mr. Nasiruddin commented on the various aspects of foreign and local software solutions for Islamic Banking and he suggested Government attention as well as BIBM’s possible role in building human resources in Islamic Banking. Dr. Raihan said that software companies of Bangladesh have emerged in quality and number in last four to five years as more than 300%. So the Government should take necessary action in this sector.

 

At the end, an open discussion and questioner were held at this programme.
