Award Giving Ceremony of the first National e-content and ICT4D Award 2010.
On 9th August 2010, Millennium Information Solution Ltd. (Millennium) was awarded first National e-Content and ICT4D Award 2010 by the Ministry of Science and ICT Government of Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh for their National e-Government portal project.
This e-Government portal also received the prestigious ‘Manthan Award 2009’ from Digital Empowerment Foundation in partnership with Department of Information Technology, Govt. of India.
This project was sponsored by the Access to Information (A2I) Project of Prime Ministers Office (PMO), Bangladesh.
The award was given by the honorable Finance Minister Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith at the main auditorium of National Museum, Shahbag, Dhaka on August 9, 2010. The award giving ceremony was attended by the State Minister for Science and ICT and many other respected government officials, social leaders and industry experts.
A team of Millennium senior members headed by their General Manager received the award on behalf of the company.
Millennium’s General Manager (GM) Mr. A.H.M. Shah Nawaz mentioned that through this portal, the visitor can get required information about Bangladesh government and its various organs at a glance. The web portal is the central access point of all ministries’ and divisions’ websites. The visitor can navigate to other government web sites; download government forms, read rules and procedures, citizen charters, statistics, important alerts and updates, different public examinations’ results. The portal also has the required applications/modules to add telephone directories of all the government officials of Bangladesh. The portal supports both Bangla and English languages. The content of the portal is arranged according to the general and day to day required information. This “Bangladesh National Web Portal” is the first portal to dynamically integrate the DSE Index and Bangladesh Bank currency rates.
Millennium’s General Manager also added that in addition to the hard work of the project team of Millennium, the cooperation of A2I officials as well as the officials of the Prime Ministers office contributed significantly towards the success of this project.
